What SOHK hosts

Students can paste or upload notes and syllabi to build private courses and cards (user_courses, user_course_topics, user_cards) and upload images. This material is private to the student's account and not published to other users.

Takedown notice — must include (§ 512(c)(3))

  1. Physical or electronic signature of the owner or authorized agent.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work.
  3. Identification of the material and enough information to locate it (account email or course name if known).
  4. Contact information for the complaining party.
  5. A good-faith statement that the use is not authorized.
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and the sender is authorized.

Our process

  1. Log the notice (date received, sender, work, material). Do not reply with student data.
  2. If complete, expeditiously disable access to or remove the identified material, and notify the student by account email with a copy of the notice (minus sender personal data where appropriate).
  3. Counter-notice (§ 512(g)): a student may send a counter-notice with signature, identification of the removed material, a statement under penalty of perjury of good-faith belief of mistake or misidentification, name/address/phone, and consent to federal court jurisdiction. We forward it to the complainant and restore the material in 10–14 business days unless the complainant reports filing suit.
  4. Repeat infringers: accounts subject to 3 valid, uncontested notices (strikes) within 12 months are terminated (Terms section 18). Withdrawn or successfully countered notices are not strikes.
  5. We keep the notice log for 3 years.
